102 was supposed to meet the same fate as VIII and LXXXVI. Scales turned to stitches, fabricated skin, numbered without ever having a name in the first place. The fact that CII was rescued before Orchid could lay her pins and needles upon him was considered a miracle by his peers.
However, the Astrologist's timely intervention could not have saved CII from witnessing the horrors of Orchid's laboratory. His peers are not entirely sure what nature his trauma is of, but it's clear to them that whatever was seen in that lab has left a lasting impression on CII, and not for the better.
