Biography

kDetLAz.png Quell and Limu's daughter is growing up! Saturn is using her natural talent for identifying found materials in the tidepools to open a crystal and candle shop at the Gathering Place! 5utJSlY.png

On special occasions, Saturn likes to decorate its antlers with dangling seashell ornaments, an attention Rosebud bears with patience and grace.

From Enemy to Friend

"Papa! Baba! It's happened again!!" Saturn came to her sires distraught. She led them quickly back to her cabana on the beach where she kept shelves and shelves of the treasures she found in the tidepools. They were usually crammed full of shells, sea glass and other prize items, but now whole sections were decidedly...empty.
Her guardians exchanged a worried look. Who else would covet these beautiful yet worthless trinkets? They needed a plan.
Bamboo Cluster Together, they created a blind further up the beach on the edge of the bamboo forest. They crouched behind the viewing slits and waited. As the sun trekked westward the afternoon breezes picked up through the forest, creating a murmur sure to lull the most determined hatchling to sleep...
LimuKai noticed it first: a rustling in the bamboo that woke his parental instincts like an alarm. He roused the other two (Quell was starting to snore) and together they watched as an audacious Grey River Flight emerged at first cautiously from the bamboo, but then proceeded boldly straight for Saturn's cabana!

The two dads turned to confer together. That's when they noticed their daughter was missing! Peering through the viewing slits they saw her trotting down to the shore to confront the thief. They emerged quickly but quietly from the blind. These creatures could turn agressive when cornered.
Arriving at the cabana, Saturn snatched up a nearby Sea Trumpet and held it out to the creature, whose paws were already full of a collection of glass and stones. After an initial moment of surprise, it dropped its loot and took the shell. Saturn offered it another. Again, it dropped its prize in favor of something new. Again and again Saturn performed this exchange until eventually the two of them were sitting amidst a pile of shiny ocean detritus, handing the pretty objects back and forth.

"Hmmm," Quell observed. "I think she has a new friend."

She sorts them into the larger abalone shells she also finds washed up on the sand and now has several shelves of them in her lair. She has no idea what to do with them, but she can't seem to let them go...

2022 Reunion: A Very Special Request wrote:
73651697.png Around midday, shortly after lunch, while many dragons were sleeping off their morning activities and noon-time feasting, a little lavender head popped into Aida's tent. The head was followed by the rest of Saturn, who emerged and stood hesitantly in the corner, mustering courage. Aida smiled but remained seated, sure her large size would intimidate the little Pearlcatcher even more.
"Oh, hello!" Saturn sounded like she was surprised to find herself here in the first place. "Oh! Of course." She took a hesitant step forward, then dove in. "I would like to commission a family portrait, please! Just my parents, I mean, not EVERYONE! Oh dear! I can pay 600kt, since it is a double portrait, would that be enough? And it needn't be done right away...I mean, Cliffside Cove is, well, it's right over there...somewhere..." She threw an arm out in a vaguely westerly direction.
(sending a more coherent request by PM...)

Aida grabs a new canvas, using it to push the one she was just painting on off the easel and into the sand. Saturn winces - hopefully that won't damage the artwork! - and then realizes Aida's staring right at her, awaiting her direction. She relays a brief description of her desired scene, and Aida begins sketching quickly, her brush reaching all four edges of the canvas before Saturn has even completed her sentence.

"...and I'm happy to pay in advance, of course!" she finishes.

"Mmm, uh-huh." Aida's eyes don't leave the canvas.

...clearly she's in the zone. It might be best to return later to hash out the details...

Saturn was found by her "dads," Quell and Limu, sleeping in a tidepool, curled tightly around her pearl. No one knows where she came from and in their confusion to explain the unexplainable to the little hatchling, she came to understand that dragons were born out of special shells that washed up on the beach!

Long were the hours that she waddled through the tidepools as a hatchling, cradling her enormous pearl, looking for shells that seemed like "likely candidates" to hatch dragons!

Her dads are very proud of their lavender daughter.
