The sands are the final stretch of land before the domain of the gods. Where The Traveller made his final journey, through the hostile, malignant territory, where disease breeds and no lifeform can remain - to survive, unarmed, in such a land, it is said that Ozymandias turned himself into stone, and now rests as a statue in some ancient ruins. But inside, his hatred and his seething anger remains, untouched as if it were still pulsing through flesh; and such emotions are bound to seep through the cracks of stone. Becoming a ruler of a kingdom of nothing reduced Ozymandias to nothing but mere myth, even during the enlightened days: swept away like the rolling sands, plague and disease infested the god himself and his desert, destroying anything that dared live there. No one knows the whereabouts of such destruction, whether it came from the hands of devil, god, or mortal, but Ozymandias vows to get his revenge and rebirth his kingdom. This doesn’t seem to be an empty threat, either: sometimes, bright flashes of lightning are seen in rapid succession illuminating the darkened desert, a warning, a threat, whatever it is, the Scholars are keen to avoid the old kingdom. |
