"Eh?" he mutters, before turning around with a scowl, "Oh, it's you again. Don't you know not to bother me when I'm busy?" He throws what he was holding aside- a book, by the looks of it- and instead stalks over to a tree stump, which has a mighty axe buried deep in its bark. He puts one huge hand around the handle and yanks- it comes free easily. "So, we good? Great. Let's do this thing."

Oni are notorious for being witless brutes who abduct poor unsuspecting travellers and subject them to horrific fates. This makes them one of the most hated of the yokai. They are also easy to spot, with their hulking frames and draped pelts across the shoulder. You might expect, then, that they'd be all but extinct, driven out by the noble katanas of the Tenshi. Unfortunately for everyone involved, not all oni are as stupid as it is said.

There are a few who are truly intelligent, able to reason and think critically, to weigh plans and decide the best course of action. Two of these are the dai-yokai, the king and his princess, but there is also another. One who lives far closer to Himikoro than anyone would like. This would be Uru, a massive oni who controls the entire population of his kin in the area.

The only reason they've been able to survive is his leadership- whilst he does, of course, give in to the urges of his kin, he is also smart enough to only pick off those who are truly lost, or who wouldn't be missed. He lets them hit Tenshi patrols only if it's possible to win, not just because they want to hit-smash-kill-everything. His looming presence is made worse by his desire to return Kurai, prince Tsurushikai's retainer and half-oni, to the fold. Slowly, he is gathering information about the workings of the palace, and feeding all of it back to those above him. What that spells cannot be good.
