ABOUT xxx ❝Where do the seeds of stories carried by the wind end up?❞
Stories are like seeds. They are planted in the mind by words and take root there, until they mature and are spread to others in much the same method. They may change and take on new qualities along the way, but ultimately they share the same origin.
Is the metaphor slightly horrifying? He will not be the judge of that. Instead, he likes to think of them as a garden of words. Countless stories, countless plants sprouting from the desolation of the past to make way for something new.
Much like the dandelions he is named after. Some liken them to invasive weeds, but he instead chooses to see it as a compliment: Stubbornly hard to remove, persistently comes back no matter what, has healing properties, and its seeds possess boundless potential, with the ability to travel far upon the breeze.
After all - memories are stored in stories and ballads. The wind carries them far and wide, so that many may hear them and retell them, and so the world won’t forget. In his opinion, dragons and their memories are only truly lost once there’s no one left to share them. It doesn’t have to be a great legacy left behind, it could be something simple.
And so he has his inspiration for his next ballad. With a flourish of his pen, he starts writing.
“The answer: These seeds will spread beyond the skies, the land, the seas, to every corner of the world, for that is the nature of the wind.”
