ABOUT. When Adair and their siblings tried to kill their youngest sibling--the runt of the clutch--they emerged from the attempt with a broken wing and a bloody jaw. Lesson learned: if Adair ever needed to kill someone again, they'd have to wait till the victim was asleep. One more thing: a revelation. When their youngest sibling sank her jaws into their wing and fractured it, Adair was--well, they were in pain, obviously. But as they staggered away from the skirmish, they realised something else; the pain blanketed their senses. They did not feel hungry. There's a notch behind their ear that never heals. Pain, of course, is deeply unpleasant, but Adair needs to be able to think through the hunger. As a diplomat, they need to keep a level-head, and it is difficult to do that with a hunger that is never satisfied. So they run a sharp claw down the ever-healing scar and let the twinge snap them back to reality. IMPRESSIONS. Composed, dignified. To all outward appearances, Adair is the very picture of a perfect diplomat. Plaguebringer willing, no one will ever learn of her secret. PAST. Children of the endless hunger and the eternal fast often have appetites that far exceed what is expected of their slender frames and gaunt faces. Those who are not cursed with a bottomless pit for a stomach are the lucky ones, though they learn very quickly that they cannot trust their own siblings to keep their mouths shut and their hunger abated. Fortunately, all become very efficient hunters, if not for necessity then for self-preservation. Even with the precautions and measures their parents take-- well. Instinct is a fickle creature. Hunger is an unpredictable one. There are no surviving runts borne of the union between Charion and Alderrim. They have never lived to maturity.
