Biography
Laudanum
healer calm | guarded starving | restrained Affiliations N/A “It’s going to be okay." ― Source here ♫ |
Young Laudanum was caught in the back alley of a healer's office rooting through the biohazard bin for food. The healer in question was semi-retired and, hey, when life gives you a young dragon who's willing to be paid in scraps... free apprentice, right? And so, Laudanum becomes a healer. It's a risky business for them, seeing as their hunger is never easily abated. But Laudanum has been exercising self-control for as long as they have practising medicine. Control over oneself was always much easier than having to take all those medical exams. Just one thing: do not come into their office after hours. No one has ever seen Laudanum empty out their biohazard bin; you don't need to find out how or why. Upright, upstanding. Laudanum is an excellent healer and any clan would call themselves lucky to take them on. More nosy members may find that they're reserved and reclusive, and that they never speak of their past. Don't pry. Laudanum is a healer but they're no stranger to inflicting pain. Children of the endless hunger and the eternal fast often have appetites that far exceed what is expected of their slender frames and gaunt faces. Those who are not cursed with a bottomless pit for a stomach are the lucky ones, though they learn very quickly that they cannot trust their own siblings to keep their mouths shut and their hunger abated. Fortunately, all become very efficient hunters, if not for necessity then for self-preservation. Even with the precautions and measures their parents take-- well. Instinct is a fickle creature. Hunger is an unpredictable one. There are no surviving runts borne of the union between Charion and Alderrim. They have never lived to maturity.
