Leather and cloth, stitched together with a dull needle, piece by piece. Slowly creating a figure. A vessel.

They weren't the first doll, but they were the last. The most successful.

The first hadn't worked at all, the many in the middle had steadily improved until reaching a cruel facsimile of true life. The last eleven were all the same, with unsteady movement, speech, and an unstable personality, but recognizable. They had little to no memory, but the identity of who they had once been lingered, even in the filthy bodies, only new to them.

When no amount of attunement improved the results, the Blood Witch abandoned them, seeking out the counsel of a true mage. A pity she hadn't sooner. It would have saved much torment.
