Biography
╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮
Inchworm; + it/he/bug. examiner.
━━━━━━━━━━━━
Ah, the crisp air, the cool breeze, the near-constant clouds that cover the sky and bring a dreary haze to the atmosphere. Wait... weren't you just inside the cave system? When did you come outside? You glance around, trying to find any familiar landmarks or identify the opening to the cave that you must have walked through, but to no avail. All around you are fading green trees and grass as you stand in the middle of a wide clearing. You're able to get a good view of the sky from here, though you notice that the sky seems rather dark behind the layer of clouds despite the amount of light you're getting, as if it were a normal afternoon, just before an autumn rain. The clouds all meld into one another, more like a layer of thick fog than actual individual clouds at this point, but they swirl and move around rapidly. It feels almost like someone is stirring them, bringing something forth from them.
A shiver runs down your spine. Chilled to the bone. The wind begins to pick up speed. It whips around you, howling. You bring your gaze back down from the sky to the scene around you. Leaves, dirt, twigs, all being flung about as the wind rages. Something is wrong. You shouldn't be here. You need to leave.
Leave.
Leave.
Leave.
"Now isn't the time." A small voice cuts through the roaring wind, your attention snaps to the source. He sits (stands?) before you, a slight, sickly green spiral. His body seems to constantly wriggle and writhe, never staying still. "You shouldn't be here. You aren't ready yet."
His childish, unwavering tone brings a sinking feeling to your stomach... no, not your stomach... your legs? What is this? You look down at your feet, but they're covered. The soft earth is covering them, up to your ankles. Huh. The dirt begins to climb, slowly swallowing more and more of you. Up to your calves, your knees. You look back at the dragon.
"Don't worry," though he seemed to sense your unease, his tone of voice brings little warmth to his words. "You aren't needed yet."
The ground has swallowed you up to your waist now. You can't move, the earth is far too thick, it holds you in place and pulls you down further.
"You'll come back sometime, right? You have to, you know." Up to your shoulders, you're sinking faster. "You better get ready!" He calls out to you one last time, the soft dirt now pressing against your chin. Get ready... those words echo in your head. Damp air floods your lungs as you take one large breath, holding it in case it's your last.
Before you know it, the ground swallows you completely in one last pull, and everything goes dark.
