Aeshe has always been able to see beyond the sight of others. It is something she believes granted by the timing of her hatching, rather than the mutation of some kind of eye. She knows that even those who die are never truly gone, that their voices and songs do not fade until they have been well and completely forgotten, and that even then it is not oblivion. She knows the secrets that were protected by their keepers into death, whispered in the dead midnight. She knows what is coming. Not the war, nor the inevitable falling-out that will follow, but the event that will change all of their lives forever. Anyone else might not have been able to put together the pieces, but she has seen more sides of this than any individual, and she has solved the puzzle to which they were missing pieces.
