 B A S I L Oblivious • Charming • Composed 
Basil was born in a rather unusual place, especially for a dragon from the Wind Flight. Specifically, his egg had been long buried underground, causing his first breaths to be shared with the many creepy crawlies just underneath the surface. But eventually the small tundra managed to worm his way out of the soil, his eyes glittering at the menagerie of colors, sounds, light- really everything that greeted him, all at once. Until he spotted another hatchling, a ways away in the same field. For some odd reason, his attention seemed drawn to her. Rooting around in the dirt, she looked rather hungry- perhaps Basil would introduce himself. So he sauntered up the small guardian and did just that, asking if she’d found anything. Little did he know this would set the course of his life in a completely different direction. The two grew up together, though never really saw each other as siblings- more friends that helped each other to survive. Which is why Ishtar eventually took a deeper liking to Basil, who ended up sharing her feelings. Lo and behold, by the time the two were fully grown, they had a nest, and soon enough a family- which evolved into a rather royal one. Their royal and esteemed family doted over a small section of the Windswept Plateau countryside, very reminiscent of the field Basil and Ishtar had hatched and met in. Though this one was far grander- more bountiful too, which was why the tundra began to spread his own small herb farm, which eventually blossomed into a small industry centralized in their little section of Sornieth. Though in the years since, Basil has stopped visiting as frequently, as Ishtar has grown more and more attached to him, woefully inept at running the clan when the tundra leaves. Basil simply brushes her clingy nature off as a joke, and continues making attempts at visiting his fields more and more. After all, he is the head of industry for Haizea Fields. Perhaps one day one of his offspring can take the brunt of her jokes, so that Basil can get back to his proper work. |
