Uh-oh, looks like this golden pearlie wandered a little too far from her home lair (559581, MoonlilyluvsCas), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. My Inventory:

A thoughtful gift from one of my many siblings, Glinwehr. Even though I was adopted by Ozone, he has always affirmed that I am his little sister and that nothing could ever keep me from being a part of this family. This particular kind of tea is one of my favorites! My brother has also told me that it has healing properties, and I should use it if I ever get into trouble on the road.

I love plants, even the ones you can't eat. I like to feel this one's flowers and leaves, imagining what it would look like if I could see... My mother says that it helps make the air fresh, and I believe her. I can smell how clean the air gets whenever I place it nearby for a while.

Possibly my favorite possession, I use this orb to make any sound I desire. It can make some pretty hilarious noises, but I also enjoy using it to make music for me to sing to. Sometimes, if I sense a monster nearby, I make it roar super loudly and scare the creature away.

This was a gift from my dear brother Thissili. He says that it has the potential to commune with one's ancestors, and that I might be able to use it to discover more about my past. I don't think it works, but I really appreciate him trying to help. Maybe I'm just not using it properly, or need some other object for it to activate...

Peptimus scoffed when Thissili gave me the incense, then he handed me this shield as a going away present. He always wants to look after me. I think the day I left the Province was the first time he ever cried...

It was late at night when Venus was awoken by... something? Some kind of cracking branch or snapping twig had lured her out of the warmth of her mother's protective grasp. She wandered out into the cold. Past the territory's edge, past the thick, spiky brush, and into a crater emanating a strange, pulsing light.

She may never know what was in this crater, as the light suddenly pulsed its brightest light yet and left Venus permanently blind. Being scared, cold, alone, and blind, Venus stumbled desperately around until finally...

Arms reached down, cradling the frightened hatchling. Venus sniffled and burrowed her head into the dragon's warm fluffy coat, unknowing of who it was but too exhausted and frightened to care.

"Oh, it's a little hatchling," cooed a soft voice. The female dragon patted Venus' head and continued to say reassuring things to her, admiring how cute she was and wondering where she came from.

Venus calmed down, safe and comfortable within her savior's grasp, and let sleep overtake her.

The doting dragon that had found Venus was a nesting mother named Ozone. When she brought the baby back to her own home, she set her down beside her newest two eggs and laid down to keep watch over them all. Venus cuddled up beside her, enjoying how soft Ozone's fur was.

Ravindra, Ozone's husband, welcomed the little hatchling as well, and he was just as gentle and kind to her as Ozone was. "What a precious little baby," he had said, then added jokingly, "Look, she has my colors."

Morning arrived, and the sound of crackling shells woke Venus. She sniffed the air, catching the scent of what she assumed to be her new siblings, just now breaking through their eggs. She curled up around Peptimus and Thissili, barely a day older than the new nest brothers but still feeling like she should keep them safe since she had hatched first.

Time went by, Venus quickly getting accustomed to her blindness. Her other senses adapted to the unexpected impairment surprisingly well, enabling her to hear and smell things so well that she could sense where objects were. She learned to interpret the auras surrounding her as well, so that she knew where life forms were located. Even in areas she wasn't familiar with, Venus could navigate with ease.

Being the big sister of two boys seemed to be a bigger obstacle to overcome than her sight disorder. Venus continually got the twins out of trouble, immediately becoming responsible and protective; and she quickly learned to keep her guard up in order to protect against her brothers' mischief. Peptimus, a rowdy banescale, was the main instigator, and he could often convince his much calmer brother to join in on his schemes. Thissili was very different from Peptimus, being a quiet pearlcatcher, and he was better at calculating how different scenarios would go. Often, it was Thissili who stopped a prank before it got out of hand--if Venus had not ended it first. Each sibling balanced out the other, and they all had a childhood full of excitement, fun, and friendship. Of course, they also learned plenty of lessons along the way.

When the three reached adulthood, Venus began to think more about her past. She did not remember what had happened to her at such a young age to make her end up all the way in the swamplands. Her mother puzzled over how it could have happened, since the distance was far too great for a tiny child to traverse blind and alone. Everyone knew she was from the light territory, but Ozone was positive that Venus could never walk so far... Something, they thought, was not being considered. Something from a long time ago had to have let Venus come to them. The mystery greatly intrigued Venus, and she determined to find out the truth some day. When she was old enough, she was going to travel.
