Aurelius lives by the rules of the blade. Die protecting what you care for, and slaughter those who try to harm it. He never thought he would ever find himself as a government offical. Now, he we are. He sits as war master, making sure that anyone foolish to threaten such a high ranked city will be sliced down. He is nuturing in his own way, as the epitome of tough love. He doesn't want to kill everything, just knows that it is what keeps the world pushing on. If we lived forever, life wouldn't be as beautiful as it is. Aurelius was a little flustered. He didn't expect the cute nurse who he accidentally called an angel to be so nice after. He feels stupid for his mess up, and even more stupid everytime he stumbles over his words. She giggles everytime he does it, and he feels a little better, but he just wishes it was from a joke and not his verbal mess ups. "Do you have a mate?" Faustina asks him out of the blue one day. She was applying the ointment onto his wounds, making sure they were healing alright. "No. I've always been to busy for that" "Oh..." Faustina replies, her hand lingers on his on his scales a moment longer than needed, before moving to get the bandages. "Do you have a mate?" Aurelius asks, abd he can't help that she doesn't, but the chances are slim. She walks over with the bandages and shakes her head. "No. I've always been to wrapped up in my studies and helping people. My parents don't let me forget that I'm not getting any younger though" she laughs slightly and that, her blue eyes filled with adoration. "I swear, if I have to hear them talk about having grandchildren again I'm gonna go insane" Aurelius laughs at that. She starts wrapping up his wounds. She moves carefully, strategiclly. There's a lull in their conversation, but there was no awkwardness in it, it was comfortable. "If the right person asked, would you out with them?" Aurelius asked, and he felt like he's been plunged into cold water. Why did he ask that? Oh god, why did he-? "Yeah, probably. I'm older now, and I want to settle down, put my research and knowledge into books to feed the next generation. Why?" They lock eyes. The tension was thick, heavy. "Maybe, we could go out? After I get out of this hospital. It's nice, but it's certainly not where I think a date should happen" She smiles, wide, her eyes sparkling "I'd like that a lot" Faustina and Aurelius had been together for awhile. They had become established in Avere Divina, between Faustina's outstanding knowledge of medical arts and Aurelius triumphs in battle, the two were invited to the mysterious town from a letter. That had been a few years ago. Now, the two have an even greater milestone. The two have had a hatchling, a baby of their very own. Her arcane eyes sparkle wide, and she yawned. The two laughed at the little hatchling, the two laying flat as possible, heads eye level with her. "She's gonna do amazing things" Faustina whispers, the same sparkle in her eyes, just like their hatchling. "She'll shake the world. Form it whereever she goes" Aurelius whispers. The two new parents turn and lock eyes, looking at eachother. "Baby Lucilla. Born from us. Her destiny written in the stars." Faustina says, excitement in her voice as she nuzzles her mate "Lucilla, destined to always make us proud, because she is our baby, and that is enough." Aurelius replies. |
04. The Emperor
It’s all about control when it comes to the Emperor, for this card means authority, regulation, organization and a fatherliness. The Emperor represents a strategic thinker who sets out plans that he must see through. He is a symbol of the masculine principle - the paternal figure in life that gives structure, creates rules and systems, and imparts knowledge. Where the Empress's desire for their kingdom is to create happiness, the emperor desires to foster honor and discipline. He guides with a firm hand, following the calling of the crown above all else. Though he is a ruler, he understands that to reign is also to serve - thus he acts rationally and according to what is for the greater good of the kingdom.
