Prentice

While his uncle Alabaster runs the clan, Prentice has much smaller ambitions. He is archivist to the clan’s massive collection of tomes and scrolls, a duty he takes seriously. The collection of knowledge is the only true means of advancing a civilization, Prentice espouses, and therefore it is scholars, not warriors or technicians, who make a society great.

While that may come across as snobbish, he is more fair-minded than he lets on. To him, pursuit of knowledge is a sacred right, and should therefore be open to all. Regardless of background, experience or past learning, any dragon is welcome to peruse his library so long as they treat it with respect and care.

No greater example of this is there than his relationship with Roe, whose violent nature made her almost impossible to be around. Despite this, Prentice welcomed her into his space and even worked to teach her to read. Though she struggled and nearly gave up, she proved an apt pupil once she had mastered the basics. Prentice came to admire Roe’s appreciation for learning, and eventually Roe herself. Now, the two are mates, an inseparable pair.
