Born of stone and sand and stories, Chai was a wanderer. She was raised in all the splendor of the Autumn Court, but longed to travel beyond it. Her hunger for tales matched that of her parents, and eventually she was deemed old enough to set out on her own to the mortal realms.

Her travels took her far and wide across the length of Sornieth, until she came across a Pearlcatcher named Ford. She was a scientist, investigating the many oddities and anomalies spread across the land. Chai was intrigued by her, following the other dragon around and eventually joining her in her studies. She never mentioned to the dragon that she herself was one of the anomalies that she so sought.

Eventually, Ford's current expedition came to an end and she returned to Paradox, bringing a curious fey in her wake. And Chai's curiosity grew only larger when she saw Ford's home for the first time. A land, mostly attached to reality and mortality, and yet adrift from it at the same time. Almost like the fey realms, and yet not. And there were all sorts of other beings there as well- no members of the Seasonal Courts, but fey from other realities and dragons with even stranger abilities.

For now, she's settled in Paradox, in a creaky cabin at the edge of town where the birch leaves always seem to be falling, the weather is always just crisp enough to reach for a sweater, and the harvest is always plentiful. She sits on her porch, and offers any visitors a cup of mulled cider, or spiced tea. And if any dragon asks her what she is, she just smiles and asks for their stories in exchange.

You might've also heard of a pair of travellers who show up every fall to gather stories from seemingly everywhere at once, who seem to disappear almost as quickly as they arrived. Maybe, just maybe, someone managed to get their names, and maybe, just maybe, you've heard of Maple the storyteller, who travelled the lands in search of folk tales and myths. And perhaps, if you happen to be familiar with the elusive and greedy Autumn Court, you've heard of Aspen, who's hunger for knowledge was near unmatched... ...Until now, that is.

Congratulations on adopting a Descendant of the Autumn Court~ Gluttonous and decadent, the Autumn Court fae gorge themselves on the harvest's riches. Be warned, though: one taste of their food, and you will never be able to leave. The Autumn Court is most well known for granting questing dragons prosperity, but only if they can be convinced to part with it.
