Biography
_____ |
maple ___wandering storyteller |
lover of the knowledge seeker |
Stories run through our bloodline, Maple's grandfather used to say, as he told his grandson of ancient cities and forbidden magics. We remember them even when everyone else forgets. And so, Maple listened, and wrote down every word. And when his grandfather eventually passed away and became a story himself, Maple started travelling. Smaller clans all around Sornieth might've remembered the odd, cheerful-looking Obelisk dragging a cart filled with nothing but notebooks, all filled to the brim with stories no one had heard of. They might've remembered telling him about an odd rumour or an old fable they heard once or twice, and they might've remembered him writing down every word at a near manic pace, and leaving without a trace only days later. Some might've even remembered hearing a story from a far-off region, about ancient cities and forbidden magics. But even if they might've remembered, they never thought much of it. He was probably just some young scholar researching urban legends, or something along those lines. Just some dragon. And indeed, although his dedication was near unnatural, Maple was just a dragon. There was no supernatural gift or curse assisting or compelling him to seek out these tales; simply the memory of an old voice and a bloodline with stories running through it's veins. And so Maple remained odd, but ultimately mundane. Until he stumbled across a Fae with a hunger for knowledge rivalling his own. Really, was it such a surprise they fell in love? |
• lore.
• If you pay close attention to the rumours, you might've heard of the Fae, of the courts, of their mercurial whims. You might've also heard of a pair of travellers who show up every fall to gather stories from seemingly everywhere at once, who seem to disappear almost as quickly as they arrived. Maybe, just maybe, someone managed to get their names, and maybe, just maybe, you've heard of Maple the storyteller, who travelled the lands in search of folk tales and myths. And perhaps, if you happen to be familiar with the elusive and greedy Autumn Court, you've heard of Aspen, who's hunger for knowledge was near unmatched... ...Until now, that is. |
