Biography

Falak grew up in a large ice clan, the youngest of over thirty offspring. He always preferred to keep to himself, communicating instead with the spirits that other drakes preferred to ignore. His clanmates found him eccentric, off-putting, and morose. He didn't mind the lack of attention. A devoted Imperial, he threw himself into his craft instead - magic. However, when his proficiency in sorcery and his connection with the dead began to mix, the clan exiled him. He ended up wandering Sornieth alone for several years perfecting his craft, his only steadfast companions the spirits and souls that surrounded him. When he crossed paths with Mori, who was wandering outside the lair as he often did, he found a kindred soul. While Mori is not a necromancer, not even a mage, he has a strange connection with death that most dragons do not. He can see the Nightmares, horse-like creatures that only show themselves to one who has witnessed a death, has a strange skeletal pattern to his fur, and has a name that directly translates to "death". Needless to say, he caught Falak's attention. They became fast friends, arranging meetings in strange, but interesting, places across Sornieth to exchange gifts and words. Eventually, after much reassurance and some coaxing, Falak decided to approach Lady Nocturne and ask to join Cynefin - who of course took him in. He now freely practices his craft, and spends most of his time at Mori's side. While not part of the Upper Circle, he often helps Reve with magic, and is a fierce warrior on the battlefield as well.
