An ephemeral, fleeting dragon, her presence is rarely ever noted outside of the most morbid of occasions. Typically, Sacellum keeps herself cloistered within the farthest reaching spire of Emprise, in a room brimming with incense and aged tomes. Others are infrequently summoned to her side via the use of a magical avian that resembled a dove - it's chirps sounding like bells, to all but it's desired recipient. Few know fully of her origins, but, a number of the residents of the Citadel claimed she is nothing but an imperial whom shed her skin; hence the blankness of her hide. 〝 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘴. 〞 |
⸺ ACT I. finality
The tempest stills, it's cold breath fading, lingering tendrils plucking at delicate scales. A familiar scent of lily blooms and aged ichor invades the space of all whom draw close; overwhelming to the olfactory senses. Uncaring, unseeing of the living, she draws close to the sole object of her gaze - a titanic cadaver, covered in a thin sheet of dusk-hewn silk.
"How long..?"
The questioned was poised, but not readily answered. A click of her beak soon changed that, the glistening band of light encircling her crest becoming blinding in it's luminosity. Whispers shifting into a roar. The light peeling away layers of reality that should not be perceived. Piercing wails of pain echoed throughout the cavern as a result - and continued for a time after it dulled. Still, the Skydancer did not move.
"It..Our hunter's discovered it three days ago.. Please you have to-."
A gasping ridgeback croaked out, digits dripping with the sanguine fluid that welled from underneath his irises. Silenced by a simple flick of a tail. This had gone on for too long, for far too long. Talons were drawn up to her chest, a collection of glittering, ghostly bones tumbling into her claws. Sickening cracks echoed, those same bones snapping into position as stark white plumage formed overtop, Until finally, a delicate dove perched upon a single glistening talon. Chirping quietly, it's voice sounding akin to ringing bells.
"...Carry what you can, and leave this place for no less than a summer. Should there be another Imperial in your midst, you will not be able to return for ten. Remember Luminax. Understood?"
