The Father prided them, while the Mother whispered cautious lovings from afar.
One single midnight.
A simple request turned to impudent hissing, a feeble denial, a boundless rage.
And they saw without seeing, heard without hearing, knew without knowing.
And I gleaned a speck of antique scales, beyond the bristling of his wing.
Tearing through sky
My eye followed, mind away from the present fury. What more could he do to me?
The delicate bird stayed fixed on their course, broken, but unflinching. Unrelenting. Unregretful.
And then they flew into the Wound.
