When Elysium hatches, her eyes are already wide with curiosity. Her parents eagerly answer her questions, excited to have a fresh audience for their scholarly findings. As they recount their research, they often bicker over the details, remembering things slightly differently. Even so, they argue in good humor, engaging in debate as much for its own sake as to be right. Elysium takes sides with her parents in turns, alternating between one and the other, enjoying their company. Of course, she reads as much as she talks, if not more. Striving to keep up with her parents' intellect, she reads everything she can get her hands on, and sends out requests with the clan's traders when she needs to. It's not until she starts engaging more with the outside world that she realizes exactly how esoteric her parents' research really is. Certain that there must be more out there to know than her contacts can find, she sets out on her own.
