A grizzled and oil-stained ridgeback who works almost exclusively for the clan's Science Department, Galvanis is responsible for forging and crafting some of the machine parts that Scunner and his colleagues need for their many projects. Sometimes the work might be delicate, requiring intricate pieces to be stamped out or cast from specially made molds, though more frequently the orders are for great cogwheels and sprockets, metal housings and steel frames.

The strange inventions that the scientists come up with using the bits and pieces Galvanis produces are of no interest to her in the slightest. Whenever the craggy ridgeback is handed a work order for items of odd proportions or that are to be made from unusual metals, she doesn't give it a second thought. Her mind is focused only on the task, the crafting of the machine parts her first and foremost concern, with no time spent wondering how the pieces come together and what they might do. The laconic dragon rarely visits the laboratories unless her presence is requested, and she doesn't try to hide her boredom if an excited researcher attempts to explain their current venture to her. Snatching the blueprint and shooing them out of her workshop, Galvanis will clean her hammer carefully and ready herself for another day of good old fashioned hard work and elbow grease.
