Biography

WIP Dragon + Lore + Formatting

When Lewis spotted the large, isolated laboratory in the distance, he let out a relieved sigh that nearly fogged his vision even further. After hours of trekking through the Icefields and straining his eyes so he could see past the falling snow, he was worried that the “Dr. Drame” that had sent him the letter asking him to come here was really playing a joke on him. The reassurance granted him a newfound burst of energy and motivation to press forwards, but as he did, his curiosity only grew; he didn’t actually know why Dr. Drame wanted him to come.

***

As the guard led him through the white, sterile hallway, with its walls lined with posters depicting complicated graphs and images of strange monsters locked behind bars, Lewis suddenly realized just how much this place reminded him of a prison. Had this Dr. Drame heard of his status as a legendary villain and lured him out here with the intention of capturing him, ending his dastardly crimes once and for all? The offer presented to him on the letter was too good to pass up, but Lewis resignedly started plotting potential ways to escape if need be.

The guard came to a sudden stop and opened one of the many identical doors (how the guard knew what was where, Lewis had no idea). “Wait in here, please,” they said gruffly.

When Lewis peered in, he saw what looked like a cozy employee’s break room instead of the dingy jail cell he was expecting. The only other dragon inside was a white bogsneak, dressed in extravagant golden clothes indicative of a Light Flight noble and sitting in one of the rickety plastic chairs, hunched over with heavy bags under his eyes and a freshly-made cup of coffee held in his paws. When the bogsneak spotted Lewis, he gasped and nearly dropped his mug.

“No, no no no! Please no!” the bogsneak cried. Lewis could practically hear the poor dragon’s exhaustion in his voice. “Don’t leave me with-… with him!”

Lewis, a bit dumbfounded over the stranger’s odd reaction, looked back at the guard. They shrugged. “Drame’s orders,” they answered apathetically, nudging Lewis into the room and slamming the door shut. The lock audibly clicked.

The two dragon locked eyes. Normally, people who recognized Lewis as the great criminal he was would get angry if they saw him. The bogsneak, however, seemed… terrified of him.

What an unpleasant feeling.

Lewis quickly shoved aside his shock and crossed his arms, all while making a show of turning his head away from the bogsneak. “Fear not, citizen! Although I may be a high-class villain, today I have zero intention of committing any sort of wrongdoing,” he announced. He quickly peeked at the stranger, feeling relieved when he noticed him visibly relaxing. “I am simply here on request of one Dr. Drame.”

The bogsneak perked up. “Dr. Drame? Did he… send you a letter too?” he asked.

“Why yes! I have it right here, in fact!” Lewis said, patting his pocket which held said letter. “I presume he promised an award of some sort if you arrived, too.”

“Yes, he did,” the bogsneak answered. He pulled out what Lewis assumed was another one of Drame’s letters. “Here, take a look.”

Greetings Supernova,
I am Dr. Erumos Drame, a researcher currently located within the Southern Icefields. From what I understand, there has been a dire problem plaguing you for the past several years, depriving you of the calm and relaxed life you desire. I am happy to say that I may have a way to help you with this problem. If you’re interested, please come visit me at my workspace. Enclosed, you will find a map and the preferred date of your arrival.
Thank you,
Dr. Erumos Drame

“Hmm…” For a moment, Lewis pondered the strangely vague nature of the letter, but he quickly pushed away his nosiness. “I see! I’m glad this Dr. Drame is able to be of use to you as well.”

The bogsneak, Supernova, nodded. “I am too. Although I’m unsure he’ll actually have a solution, I’m still hopeful I’ll soon be able to lead a normal, mundane life. I’m sure you understand how… difficult that usually is.”

“Err…”

No matter how hard Lewis thought, he had no idea what Supernova meant. Supernova must’ve noticed Lewis’s confusion, as he quickly changed the subject. “Now, what his Dr. Drame promise you? Something… similar, I assume?”

Lewis, still unsure about Supernova’s previous comment, didn’t respond. Instead, he pulled his letter out of his pocket and handed it to Supernova. The bogsneak accepted the letter and read through it, his neutral expression quickly shifting into a deeply confused one. “…Several villainous plans, plotted out in detail? All for the sake of drawing more attention to yourself?” He looked up from the letter and stared at Lewis. “Isn’t that a rather… small reward for coming all the way out here?”

“Of course not,” Lewis said matter-of-factly. “First of all, plotting my crimes can get very difficult sometimes. Second, look at his name again. What do you notice?”

Supernova turned his attention back to the letter, squinting at the name. “Uh…”

“Dr. Erumos Drame? His name practically screams fellow high-class villain!” Lewis explained. “A high-class villain! An expert! How wonderful is that?”

Supernova stared at Lewis, speechless.
