Alastaire is an ancient and wise dragon, she has known Dusk since before the fall of the Crystal Fea, she was the healer for the Crystal Fea kingdom and was recruited by Dusk to heal the new clan.
her cat, swamp, fetches herbs for her and watches around the village for injured dragons.
when she was young she was shunned and thought of as a freak for spending all her time in the forest, she was bullied ferociously for her dull scales and weak magic.
she turned to science and medicine when she could not use magic, she was apprenticed by one of the greatest healers in all of crystal fea, 'zapuk', and learned much from him.
she met her mate, Apollodorus, when she was still an apprentice, his joy of herbology and mystical science amused Alastaire, and she confessed her love for him when she was promoted to a fully trained med dragon, and he was a fully trained herb scientist.
she had two eggs with her mate, but they both died from an incurable disease, heartbroken, alastaire refused to ever have offspring again, and focused on her love life and work instead.
her sister (who is unnamed) abandoned her daughter, gangles on Alastaire's doorstep and was left to raise her.
through the next 17 years, Alastair saw a darkness in her niece's heart, how she would take things from the home and sell them, and how she would drain magic from the local flora and fauna, she also was a common thief, stealing things from magic shops and crystal stands in the market.
When Gangles was not chosen by Alastair to be a royal mage gangles went on to sabotage the mage ceremony and was arrested and sent to prison which she broke out of.
in alastaires mind she had basically lost another child to darkness, the void in which cursed her own children with illness, had poisoned the mind of her neice and sister.
