Y I X I A N G Linguist You tentatively step into a spotless study. It's a curious sight in the Black Glass Library, usually books fight for space on every surface in a centuries old archiving system. The room smells of fresh Oak Gall ink and linen-like paper. An ornate carpet cushions your step and you peer about the shelves. There are tablets, vases and even pieces of bark on carved wooden stands. Everything is free of dust and you feel even whispering would ruin the atmosphere. There is a Imperial in a smart mantle curled around a much too tiny desk. He seems content to make do as little sheets of paper and straightened scrolls are inspected through a magnifying glass mounted on a golden stand. He's wearing cotton gloves and a mask that charms his breath from decaying the paper. The air around you is dry and crisp, the neatened documents never stir an inch. His goggles seem to have some sort of runic inscription on the lenses, but you can't make it out. 
  
The only movement in the room is the gentle sway of his tail; the locks at the tip have been braided without a hair out of place. You can't put your finger on it, yet something tells you the dragon is smiling under his mask. Perfectly satisfied with his task. He seems have to registered your presence despite the fact he hasn't greeted you. You tip toe over to his desk to look at the papers he's studying. You can't make head nor tail of it; it must be an ancient language long lost to dragon kind. He seems to be deciphering it with all the calm and ease of someone looking over a crossword puzzle. An enchanted quill on the mahogany desk dances over a clean page writing spidery glyphs.   
You clear your throat making sure not to make him jump or distract him. You feel you ought to be polite as he's so kindly let you watch him at work. "Are you translating it?" He nods, his tail still flicking back and forth. "May I ask... how many languages do you speak?" His tail pauses mid-sway and he tilts his head. "Too many... or perhaps, not enough..."
