Biography

“BingGao is the always patient, calm, soft, berry-gathering tundra. She enjoys the company of plants because they don’t talk back. But she will bear the horrors of a loud, bustling party if YanMu asks her to come.”

(Just want to say real quick that this is more the outline of the story, but I decided to post it anyways because it will probably never be finished. So now y'all know how I plan stories and why they never get finished)
BingGao is taking a walk through a forest, like she does almost every day. She likes to be on her own. She doesn’t mind company, but she isn’t much of a talker, and the dragons in the clan can sometimes be a bit…energetic.

BingGao has taken this task on herself, the very important task of collecting plants for the herbivores. Twice a week, this tasks usually takes the whole day, and sometimes she gets in a spat of trouble, as there are many monsters in the forest.

This day is no different. BingGao hasn’t been walking for five minutes, when she becomes aware of something following her. But she isn’t scared, as the thing smells and feels like something good. Yet it also smells a little frightened. BingGao doesn’t pay attention to it, as she knows that it doesn’t want to know that she knows it is there.

The thing follows her the whole day, and BingGao never encounters any other monsters.

****

She returns to the forest the next day, hoping the thing will still be there, hoping it will be a bit less frightened. The thing is there the moment she enters the forest, but it doesn’t show itself. BingGao just takes a walk, and she is gathering some berries and plants.

Suddenly, she stops moving. She smells something else, and it smells evil—it’s a poisonous toridae!
Just when she turns around to defend herself, the good smelling thing jumps from the bushes and wildly attacks the toridae. Not knowing what happened, the toridae crawls away, very frightened and hurt.

BingGao locks eyes with the thing that has been following her. The thing cringes into itself, and slowly turns around, the many eyes on its head widening in fear.

BingGao realises it’s just a small mirror dragon. Before she knows what she is doing, she says; “Hi.”

The poor dragon bolts, vanishing as quickly as she can.

BingGao takes a step to go after her, but she stops herself, not wanting to scare her.

But whens she returns to the forest the next day, she feels the dragon there again. She walks for a bit, collecting some plants, and when she smells the mirror is close, she says softly; “Don’t be afraid, I’m not going to hurt you.”

There is no response, just silence—which is kind of a response—and BingGao says; “I want to thank you for yesterday.”

The dragon slowly comes out of the shadows. She is so filthy BingGao isn’t sure what colour she is.

BingGao; “My name is BingGao.”

The poor little mirror just stands there, her claws—which are glowing, notices BingGao—digging into the soil. She flinches, and she bares her teeth, hissing.

BingGao doesn’t understand why she is doing that—but she does not feel threatened by her. And then the mirror suddenly lunges, and BingGao takes a step back, shocked, but the mirror shoots past her and rips a shellion out of the bushes.

The two fight, and BingGao is just shocked at how wild a little dragon can be. The shellion has no chance. It perishes.

The mirror just stands there, panting. BingGao says; “You saved me. Again.”

She takes a step towards the dragon, now not only dirty but also bloody, but she cringes back.

BingGao hums; “It’s okay, I won’t hurt you.”

And then the dragon rasps with a hoarse voice; “But I might hurt you.”

She steps back into the bushes, but she doesn’t leave. BingGao doesn’t move as she says; “Is there any way I can help you?”

The mirror cracks; “No. I cannot be fixed.”

BingGao, heart clenching hearing the mirror actually means it, says; “Why do you believe that?”

The mirror snorts; “My clan cast me out because I can’t keep my claws by my side.”

BingGao frowns; “What did you do?”

The mirror doesn’t answer, and BingGao feels she is slipping away, so she quickly says; “Everyone can be fixed. And that includes you.”

The bushes shift, the mirror is backing off, and BingGao declares; “I’m going to help you.”

The mirror freezes, and then she says; “If I were you, pretty furry angel, I would stay far away from me.”

She vanishes, and BingGao cannot help her cheeks from reddening, having been called ‘pretty furry angel’.

****

The next time she enters the woods, the dragon is there again, out of sight. BingGao hears her taking out creatures, ripping apart monsters, making sure they never reach the tundra.

****

BingGao, is a bit absentminded that evening, and as she helps QiuJi putting the hatchlings to bed, the pearlcatches asks her with his low voice; “Why are you off so often these days, BingGao?”

BingGao looks away, trying to hide the blush creeping up her cheeks. She says softly; “I want to bring a dragon to the clan.”

The pearlcatcher frowns; “Bring a dragon to the clan?”

BingGao; “Bring her back and safe her.”

QiuJi tilts his head, and BingGao says a bit breathlessly; “I want her to be safe, QiuJi.”

QiuJi; “Does she want to come?”

BingGao shakes her head, and she mumbles to her paws; “She’s so frightened. I just want to protect her, but she’s afraid of everything.”

QuiJi pats her shoulder, and he says; “She will be welcome, BingGao. If she wants to come.”

BingGao nods; “I know.”

****

For almost a week, when BingGao takes a walk through the woods, the mirror is there, protecting her. But then one day, she is not.

BingGao gets concerned, and she just knows that something must have happened. She thinks maybe that clan caught up with her, or one of the monsters got her.

She takes one very deep breath, trying to catch the smell of the little mirror. Her nose leads her to that berry plant where she first saw her. Upon further inspection, she notices broken branches and droplets of blood.

She recognises the second scent clinging to the branches—it is a monster. BingGao doesn’t even think about dangers as she goes to follow the trail. She encounters several dead creatures, and then, under a tree, next to a lake, is the dragon—her dragon—unmoving, bloody and dirty.

BingGao runs towards her, and she pokes her but she doesn’t respond, but the mirror does breathe and her heart is still beating, so she is alive. BingGao checks her for wounds, but she is very dirty, and she cannot see what is wrong with her.

She gets a piece of cloth out of her satchel and wets the thing in the lake. She wants to wipe the dragon’s face, but before she can even clean a little patch, the mirror opens her eyes.

She jolts awake, and all her muscles tense as she leaps over BingGao and snatches something out of the air. The thing cries out, and the mirror lets out a yelp, and then she slumps back onto the ground, panting, hissing, and the beast, cut in half, goes up into a wisp of smoke.

Barely recovered from the shock, BingGao runs up to her, and she calls out; “Wild thing, are you alright?”

She doesn’t know what to call her, and somehow the words ‘wild thing’ exit her mouth. The mirror actually laughs, and she says; “Wild thing, that’s a good one.”

The laugh makes BingGao very warm, and she reaches out to take the dragon in her arms. The dragon shies away somewhat, and she says, a bit frightened; “Don’t touch me, pretty furry angel, I don’t want to hurt you.”

BingGao says, matter of factly; “You’re not going to hurt me, wild thing.”

The mirror hisses; “Please.”

But then she slumps, and she loses consciousness. BingGao picks her up, and she washes her in the lake. Only now does she see that the dragon is a very pretty green, and that she is incredibly beautiful.
BingGao doesn’t understand why anyone would cast her out of anything. BingGao tends to her wounds, and she is relieved to see that the cuts are not deep and the bruises are not bad. She does notice a pulsing, red charm on her hip, in the form of the plague emblem.

BingGao makes a campfire, not wanting to leave her alone. When the dragon stirs she opens her eyes, BingGao smiles at her. The mirror looks around, and she slowly gets up, looking at her paws, a bit confused.

BingGao says; “Are you alright?”

The dragon looks up at her and she doesn’t answer. So BingGao asks; “How do you feel?”

To her surprise, the mirror blushes and averts her eyes, and she rasps; “Fine.”

BingGao; “Would you like something to eat?”

The mirror looks a bit confused, and BingGao offers her the berries she’s gathered.

Wild thing goes; “Uhm.”

BingGao quickly says; “I have some rabbit as well.”

She offers her that, and the mirror takes it and she eats. BingGao watches her until she realises it might be uncomfortable, and she looks away, and after a while, the mirror says softly; “Thank you.”

BingGao smiles at her, and she asks; “What’s your name?”

The dragon looks away, and she whispers; “Wild thing.”

BingGao laughs, but ‘wild thing’ says; “I don’t have a name.”

BingGao; “Would you like one?”

The dragon’s cheeks flush, and she mumbles; “I’m not sure I deserve one.”

BingGao’s heart clenches, and she says sternly; “Of course you do. How about…”

She looks at the dragon’s beautiful eyes, and she cannot help but blush as she says; “YanMu.”

The mirror stares at her, and then she slowly says; “YanMu”, as if she is tasting the name. She nods; “I like that.”

BingGao smiles, and the dragon—YanMu—smiles back.

****

When the sun comes up, BingGao asks carefully; “Do you want to come back to my clan?”

YanMu shakes her head, scuffling back into the bushes; “I can’t. I’m dangerous.”

BingGao says; “You might have vicious claws, but your heart is as soft as my fur.”

YanMu scoffs; “Impossible.”

BingGao opens her mouth to say something, but YanMu is like; “Nothing is as soft as your fur, pretty angel.”

BingGao blushes again, and YanMu says; “If I get scared, I lose all control over myself. And I get scared rather quickly.”

BingGao; “Then I’ll stay with you, YanMu. I’ll make sure you won’t—”

YanMu interruptse; “I don’t want to hurt you.”

BingGao; “You won’t.”

YanMu takes a shivering breath, and BingGao says; “You’ve hung around me for two weeks now, wild thing. And you haven’t even scratched me once.”

YanMu goes still, and she looks like she is thinking rather deeply. Eventually, she says; “Alright.”

BingGao blinks; “Alright?”

YanMu; “But if I lose control, I will remove myself from your clan forever.”

BingGao smiles;” I think they will want to keep you no matter what.”

YanMu’s breath catches in her throat, but then she smiles back at BingGao, and she takes a step towards her.

BingGao leads her out of the forest, and she cannot help but think the thing she actually wanted to say was; “I think I want to keep you no matter what.”
BingGao's mate is YanMu

"BingGao showed YanMu the way out of the forest, and invited her into her clan. The clan took her in and cared for her. But the one who cared for her the most was BingGao, and the tundra even went so far as to go back into the forest and claim the Plague's Charm for herself, and thus claiming YanMu as her own."
