ooooKestalm came from a family with deep roots in the darker, more mysterious side of the world’s inner workings. Her father was in a position of power as a revered sorcerer, and her mother stood by his side proudly, her blood coursing with tricky Shadow magic. Although born in the Southern Icefield, her parents moved their clan to their original home in Wispwillow Grove when their daughter was very young, igniting her love of the night and its secrets. Kestalm always had a knack for hunting in the dark, with her keen ear and statue-like stillness, but it was not until one night in the Ghostlight Ruins that Kestalm discovered exactly how deep her abilities ran.

____Many years passed before she decided to leave the Shadow domain to explore more of Sornieth. Her parents were bittersweet, glad to see her off into the vast regions they had rarely visited themselves, but mournful that their only daughter was leaving home. She found herself drawn to the magical aura of the Starfall Isles, where she was granted refuge with Syncraci during a particularly rough meteor shower that drove her into the depths of the Star Wood Strand. The inhabitants of the clan intrigued her and she ended up staying long past her initial visit, not that anyone minds.

____Now a permanent resident, Kestalm feels more at home here than she ever imagined she could. The sheer variety of dragons and their ability to keep open minds gave her the encouragement she needed to embrace herself in the new environment. She swiftly became well known for the one quality that sets her apart from other dragons: her connection to those that are no longer living. Indeed, she has the power to speak to the dead. Kestalm is positive she witnessed something as a hatchling that triggered the ability, but she has never been able to recall the exact circumstances. The only clue that remains is her ability to see wild Nightmares prancing around in her dreams. She hears voices in the dark of the night, in the vastness of her dreams, and in the wind that tickles the soft feathers behind her ears. They speak to her in tongues from generations long gone, both young and old. Most are friendly, but occasionally, a vicious straggler who died abruptly and unwillingly snarls at her from the great beyond. Kestalm has become an expert at pushing these to the back of her mind, but tries her best to help them move on. While these skills have been questioned in the past, here she is trusted and called upon for her services. Her seances that somehow stay calm and peaceful have become famous throughout the shoreline.

____Close friends with Absii, another dragon with powers in a similar vein. The two have had many long talks together about their respective abilities. Kestalm entered the clan around the same time as Mirateli, so the two share somewhat of a sisterhood.

____While not much of a fighter, she has a strong aura that deters enemies from even lingering in her vicinity. She can defend if absolutely necessary. On a physical level, her body is always cold, no matter what the temperature is. Her breath is always a visible puff of smoke.

____Her hoard is comprised of candles, many of which are half depleted from constant use. Kestalm's den is always bathed in a soft glow from the tiny flames.
