Sabrun grew up in the care of his grandmother. They lived in a humble den in a small community on the outskirts of Emberglow Hearth. His grandmother would always entertain him with fantastic tales of adventure and mystery from long ago. She taught him about the world through these fairytales and as he grew up he began to look at the world through the lenses of myth and legend. He would ask others questions about things they took for granted or brushed off as small quirks, ignoring the myths that they thought too foolish to be of any consequence.

His research into mythology and how it is mirrored in the world and society around him took him all around the Ashfall Wastes and eventually into other territories. During his travels, he began compiling all the myths and legends that he learned of into books that he published to share the knowledge and fund his journeys. These books became very popular as they included annotations and analyses that showed how these myths shaped the world into what it is today.

On his second trip into the Tangled Woods, he met Shaeira an Anthropology professor on the history and use of Rituals in magic and society. The two met in the Magpie's Nest's extensive library, researching the same topics. They grew close during their period of study and were fond of the area and eventually decided to settle down and start a family.
