It's quiet in here...was quiet in here.
Herma rescued Catacomb from a lair with more dragons than it knew what to do with. While his subtle coloring and quiet demeanor would have normally been overlooked by them, they felt a strange pull when they saw him sitting outside his lair and immediately inquired as to his status. They felt a tug on their heartstrings upon learning he was nameless and placeless and joyfully took him back to Islandheart's Lair with them. The pearlcatcher was surprised to find others who looked like himself in the lair upon arriving. Herma introduced him to the paranormal den, which for a moment was quiet, until a nervous-looking fae approached them. "You're too quiet," she said. "You're like a tomb. What's your name? Catacomb?" "Cuddles, you're a nut," a spiral across the den remarked. "Leave the newbie alone." "And you're a mess," Cuddles retorted. "Stop lighting the den on fire, Ash." She flapped away from the conversation, already distracted. Catacomb silently assessed the others in the den. Another spiral was busy winding himself up inside red and white fabric; the spiral Ash had turned his attention to a multi-gaze imperial who was helping him relight one of his candles with one of her own. Despite what seemed initially like henpecking, the dragons were seemingly comfortable in the den. Just then, a spiral draped in a wolf pelt approached. The pearlcatcher was surprised to hear a delicate voice from beneath the fierce appearance. "You're welcome, here, Friend," she said. "I'm Zuul, the leader of this den. Cuddles has a way with frank words that takes some getting used to. She doesn't realize that not everyone sees what she sees. Ash is still getting used to the frankness, himself." "I hope I'm not a burden," the pearlcatcher said quietly. "Not in the least," Zuul replied. "What was it Cuddles called you? Catacomb?" "I guess?" the pearlcatcher replied. He shifted his treasured pearl uncertainly in his arms. "I don't have a name." "Cuddles saw your name," Zuul said. Catacomb could hear a smile in her voice. "Catacomb is a good name. I think you'll find others like you here." She nodded back into the depths of the den. "Welcome home."
