It's easy for people to assume that, with the Earthshaker largely absent, there would be no Emissary of Earth. Victor Schlatt, alias Sundance when he's in Clan territory (and just Schlatt outside of it), is more than willing to play into that belief, because gods does he not want to be an Emissary. Schlatt is all about a hedonistic and selfish lifestyle; power doesn't interest him unless it lets him have a good time, responsibility is the bane of his existence, and don't get him started about what he'd be expected to do as an Emissary. Fortunately, with the Earthshaker more or less out of the picture, it's easy enough for him to dismiss his Primal eye type as being a mutation rather than a gift from the gods. It's not like the Earthshaker has given him any directions to follow. As far as Schlatt is concerned, if the old coot wanted him to be doing something, he'd come speak with Schlatt himself somehow.

Of the other Emissaries he knows, he gets along alright with Wildgale, the Emissary of Wind. He and Softshell don't see eye-to-eye, since Softshell is as dedicated to his Emissary status as Schlatt is to avoiding his own. He briefly considered Soleil to be something of a kindred spirit, but that went out the window as soon as the rogue Emissary of Arcana started murdering for power. Schlatt may be morally dark grey most of the time, but he draws the line at taking lives. He'll swindle you out of your entire hoard and break your heart as he leaves, but murder is too far, and he doesn't mess with kids. Soleil's done both, which has officially put the Spiral on Schlatt's list of enemies. He's heard of the Emissaries of Shadow, Lightning, and Water, but has yet to meet any of them.
