History
Nymla grew up in an extremely violent clan of mirrors, learning their ways of aggression and distrust. They fought for food, status, mates, and sometimes just because they could. It was not abnormal for a new alpha to cull an entire generation of hatchlings to establish dominance. By the time she entered adolescence, she grew tired of the hostility and oppression she experienced at her low status, and chose to challenge the long-reigning alpha female for the right to rule. When she lost the challenge, she was beaten and exiled. Clan-less, the young Nymla was forced to fend for herself in the wilds far away from her home. For a time she jumped from one clan to another, earning herself a particularly savage reputation. One day Shirshaw happened upon her while hunting and she attacked him, but he quickly subdued her and brought her to Maeve for guidance. Maeve said she should be made a member of their clan. At first she struggled to overcome her violent upbringing. She lashed out when upset, hoarded food, and regularly challenged Maeve for dominance. But Maeve treated her gently, teaching her the ways of magic and herbalism alongside her own daughter, and Nymla began to mellow. She soon took a deep interest in Maeve's work and became her apprentice. Nymla maintained her fiery personality and fighting spirit, but uses it to help rather than to hurt, and now works with Maeve for the good of the clan. |
