Vega is brought into the world and raised in absolute secrecy. In an attempt to keep his existence hidden from Hemlock's spies, Rook weaves a barrier into Vega's very being, which prevents him from being perceived at a distance. Studious and responsible, Vega takes after his father in every way. He learns the art of magical restriction as soon as he's able, and learns it well. Never in his life does he question the duty that has been thrust upon him.

Being focused as he is on his righteous conflict, the internal politicking of the clan rankles him to no end. In particular, Tianyi's ambitions to splinter the clan and rule an offshoot strike him as disrespectful. Arguing with her day in and day out, he's surprised, after a while, to find himself seeking out her company. Realizing that his motivation for correcting her behavior now comes from a place of seeing how good she could be if she set her mind to it, he re-doubles his efforts- to her irritation.
