Biography
||The Unseen Accomplice||
When the latest bout of ancient dragons started making themselves known the last thing anyone expected to see was one miles in the air of their floating lair, nosing around in the dirt of the vegetable patch. So when this apparent newcomer greeted onlookers with a cheery hello it brought up a couple of important questions. Such as: How was no alarm raised? August, the farmer, was a mere few feet away tilling some soil. What on earth was going on? Just who is this strange dragon?
As it turns out Claude had been here a good while. Seems he accidentally got stuck in a piece of earth before it floated up into the sky without even realising while he was out exploring as a hatchling. Since he was meant to keep, ya’know, hidden. He thought it best to just try and stick it out and made a living for himself in the soil of the floating land. That island would eventually become one of the strays vegetable gardens and it quickly became hard to hide his presence from the eagle eyed August. Though Claude managed to stay unnoticed for a good while thanks to August mole familiar who took the blame for a lot of his various holes and tunnels. But when August stopped letting his familiar on the islands for a while and the hole kept appearing, the jig was up. However, rather than raising the alarm August and Claude struck up quite the friendship. The farmer managed to get a secret amnesty for the Dusthide, so that if he did get caught by anyone else he wouldn’t be attacked on site. But that knowledge only extended to the various guards and the All Mother and Father.
However, when other Dusthides started popping up all over the place the pair felt it the right time to go public. Claude is quite the dab claw at maintaining and tilling soil. Spreading Augusts trademark ashes deeper and more throughly than he could ever hope to do on his own. So for the past few years the clan actually had Claude to thank for his hard work. Especially when you consider Claude is the older of the pair by almost a week, it’s all quite a funny story in the end. Even if it had a couple clan members slightly terrified for their security for a hot minute.
Now that he doesn’t have to keep his entire being a secret, Claude has struck up quite a few friendships and is really coming into his own. He still has his own private abode below one of the gardens as he enjoys his peace and quiet. The bustle of the main lair is a little much for but he manages in doses. Usually tagging along with August.
