Nobody in the clan can quite say when exactly Shallow showed up, only that he was just... there one day. A quiet dragon of few words, during nightfall he drifts along the perimeter of the village the clan calls home. His dark hide lets him blend easily among the shadows, and those who would do the clan harm are often in for a nasty surprise when he encounters them sneaking in during the night. He swiftly and silently dispatches intruders with his strong hind legs, and then glides back into the shadows as though he had never been there at all.

Oddly enough, fireflies are drawn to Shallow. He somehow managed to train the tiny bugs to act as his eyes. The spread out during the night, blinking patterns warning Shallow of strange disturbances in the night. Two or three can always be seen resting on his horns during the daytime hours.

He has a soft spot for hatchlings, and can often be seen in the evening hours surrounded by the baby dragons. His soft voice carries sweetly on the breeze as he tells them stories and sings to them before they settle in for the night.

Every now and then, he stands silently by the river, gazing into the depths. And from the clear waters, Echo stares silently back at him.

Nobody is quite sure where Shallow and Echo arrived from. They appeared one day, washed up on the beach after high tide. Neither is willing to explain, but they have been quickly adopted into the small village making Dragonhome its home.
