B I O G R A P H Y


______ Castalia was always on the quiet side. Every month she dutifuly made her pilgrimage to the sea to hear what her deity had to say, secretly hoping for word of her many exalted children. The Tidelord was a cryptic one and what prophecies she gathered hardly ever made sense, but when she dove thinking of her children the waters felt warm and calm. She felt it was her deity's way of letting her know they were well.

______ Suddenly, the prophecies stopped. When she dove, Castalia heard nothing. No warmth, no anger, no sadness, no final cry of anguish; it was inexplicably empty. The feeling grew the further she dove, and the connection strained. Castalia surfaced with a gasp, refusing to believe what was flitting around in the back of her mind. Again and again she dove, forcing her body well beyond its limits. There were no prophecies. The sea was overwhelmingly devoid of sound. Something broke inside of Castalia that day. The sea was silent. The Tidelord had abandoned them.
