The child of two hardened sellswords often grows up with a rather mercenary approach to life, and the hatchlings of Revel and Jest are no exception. Not all of their offspring are drawn by the cold lure of treasure, but no matter their motivation, they pursue it with a single-minded devotion that other dragons find disconcerting.
With a power-hungry mage for a mother and a subservient spy for a father, these hatchlings are well-versed in manipulation and conspiracy. Some pursue it with skilled shadow-magery, some with subtle subterfuge, but nearly all are willing to employ unscrupulous methods in pursuit of their goal.
Amata grew up with one goal - to leave the dim halls of the Cliffhang Outpost and the judgemental stares of her family as far behind as she could. A childhood spent amongst a pile of warriors doesn’t leave a young drake with a lot of options, and with the absence of any greater passion or better ideas, Amata learned how to be a mercenary. It wasn’t a particular calling, or a way to earn money while satisfying some kind of desire for violence within her. It was just a way out. If she’d had her choice, she would have trained in a trade, though she’s never been sure which one. For now, she bides her time for the next job that takes her out of the Shattered Plain, and might just pay enough that she can convince someone to teach her how to make things instead of just break them.
