The dragon that arrived outside Meristema territory was a Banescale full of fury. She wreaked havoc at the boarder, disrupting the carefully forged peace treaties Meristema had made between the neighbouring Beastclans. The only resident Banescale in the clan at the time, Joiera, decided to seek out this pale terror. The Beastclans called her 'Bonez' for her deathly white scales and skeletal gene, it was legend amongst them that she feasted solely on bones too. But what Joiera saw was a dragon lashing out in fear. She was lost and alone, with failing eyesight that rendered her almost blind. Joiera had to overpower her first, as her only instinct to defend herself was to attack, but once she was held on the ground she could be convinced that Joiera was only there to help. The poor dragon began to confess to all her fears then, and Joiera vowed she'd never be alone again. She was introduced very gently into the clan, and eventually approached by Opaline, who sensed she was still an unhappy dragon, due to something deep-rooted inside. She confessed that as a young dragon she had been a gentle creature, who delighted in the colours of the local flowers, but then her vision began to fail, and her clan disbanded. Everything she had loved had left her, and she had to harden her heart. She did not have to wait long before Opaline arranged for them to dicuss this with the mage Sodalite. She shared her most secret of wishes with these kind dragons who helped her, and she was born again as Belle. Her body become smaller, softer and gentler, more fitting to her personality and less of a danger to herself when she couldn't see so well. She could still find enjoyment in plants, in the aroma and the sounds of all the insects they pleased. The softness of the petals, the hazy bands of the most vibrant flowers still apparent to her. She became an assistant Gardener, helping and learning from Actia. In this role she found her mate, Fauvent, who also tended to the gardens, particularly caring for night blooming plants. She felt just as she had done when she was a young fledgling, and would be forever grateful to be given another opportunity to find such peace and joy.
