Jexan / Clan Volt Rager
═══════════════════════
━ Crimes: ━ Boundless ambition. As sharp as this young Ridgeback may be, he doesn’t seem to know how to quit while he’s ahead. ━ Questions: ━ How stable of a leader is he? What are his plans for the future? ━━━━━━━━━━━━ |
━ NOTES ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
There are two types of misguided dragons who fell victim to the romanization of Returnism. There are the idealists who attempted to leave their towns and cities for the wilderness, only to realize that nature is an unforgiving hellscape. They crawl back to civilization with their tails between their legs. The second type starts out in much the same way, but instead of trading back their idealism for security, they trad it for a fresh new opportunity. They sink their claws into the rich, untamed soil and, much like the city they claimed to abandon, decide to exploit it. It's been a particular problem in the Shifting Expanse. One of the highest profile of these gangs are the Volt Ragers, a new Clan that charges "protection fees" for travelers and traders along the Swarf Trail. They're not the only gang that sprung out of the Returnism nonsense, but I predict that they'll be the only one to stick around. Their leader, Jexan, had the bright idea to pounce on Sphinx Rock, a waypoint town with a rare desert spring, and with water comes power. |
He and his gang have caused no end of trouble for traders, who can't afford to circumvent the spring. It's caused even more trouble for the truly wild clans who now have to compete with these bold young upstarts invading their territory.
I've been scouring the newspapers for information on Jexan himself, and lucky for me, he seems to respond well to media attention. According to the Prominade, Post, Jexan left an impressive line up of opportunities and connections in the Tempest Spire to run wild in the wilderness. He shared a clan with the current Forum Council member and was even being propped up for a leadership position. With such a bright future ahead of him, it's odd that he threw it all away.
I suppose if he was aiming to fuel his ambition, his gamble payed off. He's basically a Clan leader at an incredibly young age, and he's already controlling a major supply route on both land and in the sky. I even heard that Jexan has already filed for his Volt Ragers to become recognized as a legitimate Clan.
If succeeds, those wild clans won't have a chance.
