Veda arrived at the Clan from above: crash landing directly into Blossom Grove, at the heart of Meristema territory. She was unconscious likely before the fall, but her weight impacted the ground so heavily it was hard to say. Mau and Satin were immediately called, a Healer and a Carer respectively, and they tended to the great dragon there not wanting to risk moving her when they were so uncertain of the injuries sustained. She laid in that spot, unresponsive, for two days and nights. Practically every member of the Clan had tended to her at one point or another, and Mau had to frequently shoo dragons away to prevent crowding. When she did wake, it was sudden and with much shouting. "I need to go- I NEED to GO- I need to tell-" She kept saying and stumbling around. Satin was eventually able to get her to sit down and told her where she was. "We will help you, love, don't worry. You had a bad fall. Tell is where you need to go and we'll help you get there, but first you need to get your strength." It was then that Veda realised she didn't remember where she had to go, or what the message was that she needed to deliver. She only knew she had been sent with an urgent message. She couldn't even recall where she had been sent from. All she knew was her name, and she began to doubt if that was accurately remembered. Satin told her it was a pretty name, and more than good enough until she remembered something else. The Clan opened as a home to her, until she recovered her memory and her mission, but as the weeks and months passed, Veda began to feel guilty that she would never remember. That they would be waiting for her to leave forever, and that the hospitality of these dragons might run out. She was also plagued by the anxiety of her lost message, the urgent importance playing in the back of her mind, but there was nothing she could do. Surely she was a powerful dragon, big and strong, blessed from birth by Arcane powers, entrusted with a vital message, yet all she could do was cry to herself in her borrowed cave. To her shame, that was how Amyas found her. He was kind, and did not ask what she did or didn't remember. Apparently he had checked on her as frequently as the Healers would allow when she was unconscious, he said he wanted to see how she was now. "Not great, apparently," he had said with a smile, and told her that she should see the ponds and rivers. He showed her all of the nicest places in the territory, a tour peppered with small tales and gossip, with lots of good humour. Amyas was very good company, and Veda found herself forgetting her anxiety. After weeks of a firm and healing friendship, Amyas came to her with an uncharacteristically serious demeanour. He had a proposition - a literal proposal, but he didn't want to oblige her to stay and jeopardise her mission. Yet at the same time, he confessed he could not bear to start a family with her if she remembered her cause and had to leave. "If I ever had to leave," she said. "I will always come back. I'll even make a charm this time. Something that will bind us together, so I won't ever lose my way."
