The dragonsmiths that labor eternally under the Shifting Expanse, sheltered under the watchful gaze of the Stone Eye, have turned out yet another glorious creation. A breed unique to the Lightning Flight, the Silkwings are made by taking a dragon whose wings have been damaged to the point of disuse, and repairing them with silk scarves and scraps of cloth from around the workshop.
No one is quite sure how these new wings manage to lift the weight of the dragons they're attached to, nor how they maintain the structural integrity necessary to keep a fully grown dragon aloft, but they do. Every single dragon that's undergone the process claims that the artificial wings feel no different than their own did before they were lost, and they all seem to ignore the way that, when held up to the sunlight, these manmade wings display a massive web of thrumming veins.
