Clan flirt and lute player

Deep in the Starwood Strand, two scientists found an abandoned Arcane egg. Judging by its immense size, they knew immediately it was a Guardian egg. They brought it back to their base to experiment on to make the hatchling into their bodyguard, seeing the oppertunity to make a completely obedient servent so they may continue their opperations with little worry. It soon hatched after being exposed to radiation and then the trials began. They never named their new protector, calling him 'you' or just 'thing'. After testing the dragon, it soon became apparent that their new hatchling learned extremely fast, had amazing battle skills, and could shoot a beam of pure energy at enemies. As soon as he grew old enough, the dragon was assigned to patrol the area around the area, and to kill or scare off any dragon that came too close, or when live subjects were running too low, he was told to capture dragons and bring them to him. This went on for a couple of years, and the dragon was incredibly successful at his job. Rumors began to spread that the forests were haunted, or someone's test subject escaped and brought down terror on anyone who went near as revenge. One day, the dragon suddenly changed. Over the course of his lifetime, despite the scientists' best efforts, he began to realize what he was doing was wrong and left the forest. He traveled by himself for a couple of days, learning proper draconian life and the lands outside the Starwood Isles. He renamed himself Derek, and then stumbled upon a traveler selling a lute, and knew that it was his charge. He didn't have any money on him, but he did have one thing: information on criminals. Derek located an ice clan member and promised her information on criminals they could capture in return for that one lute. She agreed, and Derek lead her and her other wardens straight to his former master's headquarters. The scientists were dragged out of their hiding places, screaming and cursing out Derek while he waved them goodbye. With that justice served, Derek moved on to other interests. He learned fairly quickly how to play his new lute, and gained some money traveling around Sorneith playing various songs for passing dragons. He came across the newly opened SHOP NAME, and liked how it looked and felt, and made it his new permanent home.

Derek now has mastered various types of instruments, but his favorites are the guitar, piano, lute, and his voice. Whenever he's not at the shop playing songs to entertain customers, Derek travels around with Brio, playing songs in all the regions, or tries to find lost and ancient pieces of music for dragons to hear once again. Whenever he successfully finds one, he shuts himself in his den to get it perfect, then preforms it for everyone. Derek's mates with Loryn, who he nursed back to health after her ordeal and attacked the clan that held her captive.

Personality:

During his childhood, Derek never showed much emotion, having any sort of sympathy or happiness driven out of him by the scientist's teaching and cruel experiments on others. After leaving and gaining free will, his personality changed drastically. He's now an extreme flirt, flirting with any female dragon that looks single. However, if a dragon shows interest in him back, he tries to break it up as gently and quickly as possible.

Small facts:

While he likes public affection, Loryn does not. She doesn't mind that he flirts a lot; she knows that he's still her mate and, in her words, "it helps to get all that stupid lovey-doveyness out of him."
He's the best fighter in the clan.
He can shoot out a beam of purple energy due to the radiation the scientists exposed him to. (It looks like Spyro's Fury attack in DotD if you've ever played that)
One of biggest reasons he likes to flirt a lot is because he loves to make dragons feel good about themselves. If they look like they're already taken, or if they look like they wouldn't like it, he tones down the compliments a little.
He gets along with virtually every dragon in the lair due to his friendly attitude.
He met his Depin one day after wandering around and liked the Depin's baleful song it was singing. He takes it around with him sometimes and sings duets as well.
