B I O G R A P H Y
On the Night of the Cold Moon, in the depths of an Ice flight winter, a little egg was hatched. From it hatched a rare sort of dragon... a Channeler. Born to control their elements, Channelers are supernaturally powerful dragons who usually appear with the same or similar colors as their elemental Diety, as well. Ledas is just that sort of dragon.
As soon as he hatched, he was flown away in the depths of night. Chavi's seers had foreseen the birth of one such dragon, and had stolen his egg before he hatched. Placed at a meeting of ley lines to gain energy, and placed under the empty, endless sky, his captors whispered to him from the moment they had him. They whispered to him of the songs and the stars; of the Hundred Devotions a dragon can give to The Goddess. They read the Dea Aeterna Cartis to him; never stopping, never resting, instilling in him their fervent devotion before he even hatched. And then, when they returned him to his true home with The Cult, they sacrificed themselves upon Chavi's altar, to perform the greatest, and final, of the Hundred Devotions.
To say that Ledas (like the rest of the Channelers) is devout would be an understatement. Even next to the other particularly devout Cultists, the Channelers stand above all. Day after day, Ledas reads and commits to memory every word of Cult's holy book. Frosted claws stained with ink write line after sacred line, copying the words into perfect swirls of ink, in imitation of the gusts used by The Cultists to communicate secretly. Words flow into shapes; animals, murals, examples of Chavi herself, to be added into books and onto walls to beautify and praise.
Thousands of words and thousands of hours blend together. Weeks on the road seeking ingredients for ink, years spent studying the process of book creation... All tie together. The process of creating an expertly illuminated, claw-calligraphed volume of the Dea Aeterna Cartis. The piece will, of course, be kept in the High Temple for High Priestess Chrysalis to read during ceremonies. Ledas' spirit is poured into this one piece. Years to go before it will be complete, and even then, secondary editions will sometimes be needed... his work will never be done.
Rich gold pours onto the pages, lightening the pages. Vibrant reds and purples show the lurid history of The Cult. Delicate shading gifts each page detail.
His life is in Chavi's capable claws, as it always has been. His every breath is hers to command, and in her sight, he can be nothing but her little puppet. From hatchlinghood, he has been under her wing, and under it he shall remain.
The Dawn of the Eternal Day is coming. The Cult shall stand strong forever, undivided, as Chavi and her High Advisors lead it to glory. Each Cultist has their role to play; perfect pawns on Chavi's board. Plans are in motion, sliding ever closer to fruition.
