Biography

A being of unknown origin, whose spirit is intrinsically connected to an old lantern, which was stolen from him by a woodsman. His fiery soul is fed by a strange oil that is ground out of trees that sprouted from the bodies of lost travelers. He has never been known to directly attack his victims, but rather finds other ways to sap their hope of escape so they succumb to the forest. Their souls doomed to be encased in the red trunks until they are cut and turned into the Beast's lifeblood.
