______ On particularly dark, moonless nights, the hatchlings swear up and down they saw a shadow slither out of the dark, snaking its way into the clan leaders' home... Haunted! The clan must be haunted!
______ Now, it's rather rude to accuse someone of being a ghost, isn't it?
______ It's actually just Caecilian's reclusive grandson, Grim. After his father's death, rather than taking the way of the sage, he withdrew, disappearing into the bottomless caverns beneath Sornieth. He's exceedingly solitary, his only companion being the spiky little puffball that he found wandering near one of the many entrances to the caves. He comes up back up to the surface once a new moon to leave a letter for his grandfather, and the clan members have started to think their clan is haunted.
______ Grim inherited near-blindness in daylight from his grandfather in return for truly spectacular nocturnal sight. He can see in near-total darkness, making him perfect for the Webfiend Caves. Due to his dark coloring, he's often quite difficult to make out amidst the shadows, and so on the rare occasions he has visitors in his caverns, he carries about with him one of his most prized possessions: and ancient lantern gifted to him by his father.
______ If you ever need to descend to the depths of the world, Grim is a willing and able guide through even the darkest, dankest, and most dangerous corners of the Webfiend caves.
