Sawyer

Sawyer joined the clan because of one of Digit's wandering trips. She said she found him alone in the Carrion Canyon with his sand circuits lighting up a bunch of rotting corpses around him (other coatls, she only admits to Cordelia). Sawyer's never disputed this, doesn't really seem to care really.

The collar and bracelets adorning him mark him as a slave of some sort, but if Digit knows why or where he came from she's never said, and Sawyer certainly hasn't ever. They light up occasionally with lights the same sandy color as his circuits, but he's never made any indication that they're uncomfortable or wants them off.

He's a quiet fellow, but then again most coatls are compared to the native draconic speakers--but he never has trouble with his words. Everything he says is careful and meaningful. He's not one to wear his heart on his sleeve and he keeps his cards close to him--Digit knows him best (if finding him is considered knowing him, of course) but even she admits she knows nothing.

Even so he's been known to tear up a little staring across the Shifting Expanse. Though Allat's come close, Pearl's been the only one to mention it, and she got an immediate swat from her father for it. Her punishment didn't keep Sawyer from disappearing for a few days, but he came back.

He works hard and likes spending time with the hatchlings, so Cordelia's never wanted him out of the clan, and for that he seems thankful. Well Digit tells her he's thankful, but really who knows what his slight shift of plumage means?

I keep having sweet little headcanons of him snuggling with a warrior snapper while they quietly stare off into the distance of the shifting expanse. aaaand the warrior snapper is actually retired and frustrated about that bc he was forced to due to an injury, and isn't quite ready to give up the gauntlet. so basically i'm looking for a snapper that fits this.
