!!! TO BE MOVED TO LORE/STORY PAGES !!!
The fourth hatched of quintuplets, the result of minds manipulated and the strings of fate tugged and knotted where they should not by the powers of the Mad Minded One. With parents conflicting of soul, mind, and body he and his siblings entered the world only to be whisked away and further manipulated before being sent into a world they knew nothing about. Unable to see, he was left to stumble aimlessly, his senses overloading as they were assaulted with the unfamiliar. Far did his journey take him. Over and under, through and out, scrapped and battered by the world that seemed to mock him at every step as hunger clenched his frail frame. Where was he? Where could he go? What of his siblings? His parents? There were no answers to his weak voice, frail and shaking with uncertainty.

As he journeyed to a destination he would never know, his venture took him to the far flung reaches of land scorched by war and devoid of life. The eerie silence greeted him, the stench of burned rubble and decay made him sick. The abstract images that grew in his mind terrified him, haunting silhouettes of shifting forms reaching out and gnawing at his brain. His eyes burned as if set aflame. All he could do was curl up and weep. Shivering as the nightmares that clawed at his soul felt too real. No more than a whimper could be managed. He curled in on himself until he felt himself grow distant from the world.

"Well, what is this? A poor thing dumped unceremoniously into our lap?"
"He's weak. Leave him to his fate, no use to us."
"Silence, cur! You may be our guard but my word is law! Scoop him up. He smells of other world and sin. Delightful!"
"We have no need to addit-"
"Do not question my authority! Remember, Bern, it was I that saved your pathetic hide! It was I that brought us together! I am the absolute in this unit! Now, do as I said and bring him!"
"Damn, wretch. You better be worth our time."

Weak. Starving. Thirsty. Cold. Alone. Alone. Not alone. Talons raking into flesh and teeth crunching bone. Horror. Run. Run! RUN! No safe place to run to. Can't hide. They're coming! The village is overwhelmed! Hide the children! Help the people! There is no help! The guard have fallen!
The visions and warping shadows that flashed through his mind as sickness and death ravaged his senses, he began feeling a stirring of pleasure.
Hunger. I hunger for their life essence. I must feed upon their lives. Their suffering drives me. Feed. Feed! FEED!

Pain an nausea overwhelmed the young dragon, he wretched painfully as he recalled how hungry he was. The burning pain in his parched throat drew a groan as he tried and failed to move. He was too weak to even move his head away from the bile.
"Oh, poor thing. I don't think he's going to make it. Let me just drain some of his soul into-"
The singsong voice turned into an annoyed hiss and feathers ruffled. "Stop, Kel. You heard what Aaja said, we're keeping this one. I'm not going to mend your wounds if you get flayed by Bernwulf like last time and I'm not even going to bother trying to save you if Volcatia gets her talons into you!" The rapping of talons against stone and a low rumble vibrated through the air. "You're worse than a grey market healer! Besides, he's looking like death warmed over he is. I'd be surprised if he doesn't drown in his own filth!"

"I... I can hear you... I'm blind... not deaf." Pitiful. Weak. Absolutely pathetic. All the Mirror could do was shuffle away from the pool of bile and tilt his head toward the voices of whatever company he was in. Stench from his mess mingled with the scent of sage, wisteria, and nightshade as the voice of this Kel grew close with a chortle. "Looky that! He can speak! Pity, kind of hoped he's keel over and I could claim his soul. I got a nice bit of taxidermy he'd be happy in." He felt the razor point of a talon trace his head crest like a cat toying with prey, another slap like before drew a hissing laugh and the talon withdrew. "Enough, Kel! Let the poor fool be and recover. If he does kick the bucket, then you can have the soul and do whatever taxidermy you want with the body. Besides, judging from what I heard Aaja saying, if he lives long enough and taps whatever sins he has, or something like that, he might become stronger."

The young Mirror tilted his head toward the gravely voice that spoke, must've been male. "What are you?" He found some semblance of strength and lifted his head from the floor as best he could in an attempt to make eye contact with whatever he was speaking with. "Kid, I'm probably the best thing besides Aaja keeping you alive. The name's Luci. Luci Toll, at your service. My deranged associate here is Kelyath. She's a bit screwy in the head but, she sometimes means well. Since you lack physical sight, I'm a disgrtace of a Skydancer and she's the most pathetic excuse of an Imperial and bigger disgrace to the species I've ever had the displeasure of meeting."

"And you love me for it! They all do sooner or later! Pre and post mortem!" Kelyath cackled like a lunatic from what Solsild could only assume was the other side of a room. The room he had been unceremoniously dumped in. A location was constructed around him, walls and a floor formed as a swarm of moths fluttered as if disturbed by the sound of Luci dropping something in front of him. The walls seemed to flex and shift as though alive, the floor under his was hard and dirty, light poured in from unseen sources, and the two twisted shadow figures before him must've been what his mind's eye translated as Luci and Kelyath. Solsild shrunk back as the shadowy form that was Luci poured what looked to be a chunky sanguine liquid into the object in front of him.

"It's just stew. Old style. Got your meats, potatoes, and a thick broth that goes down good and hot." Luci's gravely voice drawled as he sat down and nudged the bowl forward. Kelyath snaked her way forward, eyes wide. "Oh, you feel that? That vibration in the air? Oi, yeah. That's coming from him!" She hissed excitedly as the two misfits watched the Mirror fumble for a moment with the bowl. "I see why Aaja's so interested in him! I do! He's blind as a old codger that had his eyes plucked out but, it's his sins. His sin is guiding him! You see it? You feel it? It's euphoric to sense!" She reeled and cackled as she ruffled her wings, charms jingling. Luci gave an exasperated sigh as he swatted at the Imperial. "You really make things sound weird and uncomfortable, you know that? Can't you just be straight forward and say you're excited to meet another sin bearer?"

Five Years Later...

Power gives and takes. We are slaves to our ambitions, mastery is an illusion. Give yourself to your innate abilities and let them become part of you."

It used to hurt. It used to be torture. The hell that was being the center of every ritual. Every rite. Trial by fire. Just to see clearly. As clearly as magic allows when you can see everything.
