Hemlock was turned around two or three decades ago, to an unknown sire. He had no guide during his transformation, so he tried to read about the vampiric species, though he couldn't find anything of particular use. There seemed very little explanation as to why he constantly shifted between vampire and mortal, his body always in a state of chaos. He hid himself for the better part of the first decade until he eventually joined Venatici's coven. Hemlock does not enjoy violence, but understands the importance of feeding. Occasionally, he's guilty of taking more than he needs; this is so he can add the liquid to his pearl, which is made of solidified blood (though it's mostly his own). A particularly solitary vampire, he spends a lot of time by himself, relaxing in his room or hunting alone. Since newly turned vampires are thirsty, Hemlock often has an unnaturally dire craving for blood, as he's always switching back and forth. Hence, he keeps a supply with him, in case of a sudden urge. Hemlock is otherwise rather small and unintimidating. Other vampires pick on him as an easy target, but they're scared off by Venatici, both to Hemlock's embarassment and relief. His relationship with Venatici is a complicated one - it's not entirely friendly, but not entirely romantic, either. He almost suspects that Venatici is his sire, but shrugs off the thought as often as it comes up. He has a healthy (unhealthy?) dose of fear towards other vampires. When he's mortal, he avoids them entirely, both for fear that they might attack him and just not wanting to be seen at his weakest moments. During his vampiric phases, he hunts relentlessly, unless he already has a decent stock of food (in which case he just stays in). He's often described as antisocial and rude by his peers, including those he's close to. His close relationships include: Venatici (???). |
