Valerian is Primrose's husband, and the highest authority in the Nature embassy. He enjoys learning about the flora and fauna around the lair: he can't help but be impressed at their tenacity to survive so close to the Wyrmwound. With the research into them that his wife started, he collects samples from plants and animals, and then delivers them to Nnoi's laboratory. If he's not at the embassy, he can be found watching the researchers work and asking them about their work in the process.

If Primrose is away on representative business, he often tends to both their personal garden and the garden within the embassy's plaza. He finds working with the many plants quite relaxing, and enjoys sitting outside during dawn and dusk. If a dragon is struggling with plant care, they often visit the embassy to ask him for advice.
