Scorpion was the head scientist of the sanctuary. He was previously known for his unethical experiments where he would frequently use other dragons as test subjects, but he was taken in by Amethyst and the sanctuary after an experiment gone wrong left him seriously injured and permanently blind. He turned to different pursuits and focused his scientific studies on helping other dragons. He had been working on an experiment to help blind dragons see again. Scorpion had also been training Toxicity, but he had little patience for his apprentice's aggressive and rash nature. However, Scorpion saw a lot of his younger self in Toxicity, and he believed he needed to steer the young dragon away from the dark path he was currently set on.
Scorpion was typically seen as aloof or cold by other dragons, but that's only because he focuses all his energy into his studies. The only dragon he appeared to consider worthy of his time was his mate, Bellflower. Whenever she's in the room he turned all his attention to her. Bellflower was given the responsibility of taking care of his injuries when he was first brought back to the sanctuary, and she tried her best to help him as he learned to navigate without sight. Originally Scorpion felt insulted to have to be cared for by this soft, weak dragon, but he started to appreciate her kindness and gentle nature.
Since the collapse of the original Seashore Sanctuary, Scorpion has struggled to adjust to the spirit realm that he and many of his acquaintances now inhabit.
