While Arum is a spitting image of her mother, it's her father's fascination with the night sky that she takes after- at first. She realizes after several meteor showers that the stars are on a mission, and dragonkind would be best to make sure they don't achieve it. Seen as raving mad by most of her clan, Arum sets out on her own. For a long time, she simply travels where her instincts take her, trying to find any other dragons who have heard the uncanny things that she has. It's no surprise to her when her research takes her towards arcane territory.

What is a surprise is the chance encounter she has on the way there. Rescuing a young obelisk from the tunnels of the quarantine zone, his earnest willingness to stay by her side is a welcome contrast from past meetings. Keeping her concerns about the heavens to herself, Arum simply enjoys his company.
