Biography

Scalpel Vile
The Warped Lab Assistant

Syringe's loyal lab assistant and partner. They are a beast of a dragon, who was modified into a living syringe for the elemental wars, and grew up alongside Syringe. However, while Syringe proved his intelligence and rose in rank effortlessly to become overseer of a quarantine zone, Scalpel did not do the same, despite his efforts to follow Syringes lead. They were generally considered too clumsy and aggressive to properly study science.

The primary reason he never fully transitioned into the Plague flight military was due to Syringe's influence. He did spend time patrolling in his younger years, but was often working in the lab at Syringe's request, though it could never be told if this was due to Syringe enjoying keeping the powerful fighter around, or for softer reasons. They eventually came to spend all their time at the lab, doing Syringe's dirty work.

Scalpel did appreciate their time together, and always felt something stronger, but with Syringes occasional experimentation on them, among his other dubious behaviors, it was uncertain. One might consider that the only reason any romantic feeling existed there was that neither of them ever experienced affection from any other source. At the same time, one might consider that neither of them know how to show affection "normally" because they had never experienced it from other sources, as well.

Scalpel is an extremely aggressive dragon, almost entirely beastlike in his nature due to how he was raised, and possible deterioration of the mind from experimentation. Built and trained to find and retrieve new and old test subjects, he is swift, and a powerful jumper. The needle tip of his tail injects sedatives, which allow him to carefully transport new subjects back to Syringe's lab. And he is entirely loyal to Syringe. He knows nothing else, and the little will of his own he has compels him to please and love Syringe.

He does seem to enjoy locusts, and a tank of them are kept in the lab for his enjoyment.
